Now, I’m not saying that cardio isn’t an effective exercise to lose weight because it certainly is but it’s important to realize that it is not the only form of exercise that can help you with weight loss.

These forms of exercise also have their advantages and disadvantages, however, cardio is usually the least expensive form of exercise you can do. Plus, it’s one of the fastest ways to burn calories. So why is cardio often thought of as the best exercise to lose weight? Well, there are a few reasons.

First, cardio helps burn more calories than lifting weights. This means that you are burning more calories than if you were to work out with weights. In addition to this, cardio also provides a great cardiovascular benefit, which means it is a better form of exercise to lose weight than weight lifting. Also, lifting weights forces you to use a large part of your strength to lift weights and it’s not easy. In fact, it’s not even fun! With cardio, you can rest assured that the strength you’re using is minimal.

Second, cardio is also good for your lungs. Many people think that weight lifting will harm your lungs so they try to stay away from it, however, if your lungs are healthy then it doesn’t hurt to lift weights because it also strengthens them.

Now that you know what cardio is, let’s look at some common mistakes people make with cardio. First, many people are afraid of because they think it will hurt them, which simply isn’t true. Cardio is great for people who have a low heart rate because it allows them to burn fat because as mentioned above, it burns off more calories than when you’re doing cardio than when you’re working out with weights.

So, what about people who are overweight? Many times people who are overweight will feel better on cardio then if they just worked out with weights.

Many times people will also forget to include other things such as a healthy diet and exercise in their workouts. This is the biggest mistake many people make when it comes to weight loss. They neglect those things which will make them get the results they want. Now that you know what cardio is the best exercise to lose weight, you can easily decide if it’s right for you. Just make sure that you use it in combination with other exercises in your plan.

Cardio isn’t the only thing you need in your program either, and lifting weights on top of preforming cardio is important too. It’s a good idea to have a combination of cardio and lifting weights for those extra big muscles. Now that you know, you have two choices, either work out with weights and go to the gym or go outside and run a few miles.

The choice is up to you but I recommend going to the gym for the most benefit. The gym offers a wider variety of exercises so that this way you can create your own workout routine which gives you the added advantage of variety. I guarantee you’ll be much happier when you go to the gym to work out.
