Bowel movement is your body’s way of eliminating the amount of food that’s left after your body takes in all the nutrients from it.

Here’s everything you need to know about this:

  • When it comes to the frequency of bowel movements, nothing is considered normal, but only averages.
  • Generally, pools are brown in color, and this is due to the bile, which is produced from the liver, and an important process of digestion.
  • It’s often believed that the size or shape of the bowel could indicate a problem. If it’s pencil-thin, this could mean something is wrong. However, research shows that the size or shape of the bowel have nothing to do with your overall health condition.
  • Bowel movements usually come with a foul odor, so having a bad-smelling poop is totally normal.

Poop Problems

So, what happens if your bowel movement is far from normal? The first sign that your intestine may not be up to par is when there are changes in your normal GI routine. Sometimes, these changes can lead to discomfort.

Constipation can happen if you don’t defecate the way you used to. For instance, if you have a bowel movement for 1-2 times a day, but you suddenly aren’t having it for 3 days or more, then this is most likely due to constipation.
