We eat many different things, both organic and inorganic. However, it’s important to know the merits and demerits associated with the consumption of the foods we eat. 

Certain foods we eat can cause cancer. 

Those include:

  • Salty, Smokes, and Pickled Foods: Certain cancers are associated with the consumption of salty and pickled foods. Foods like sausage and bacon have a lot of salt in them. Foods with such nature can facilitate the development of stomach and colorectal cancer. 
  • Microwave Popcorn: The danger associated with consuming microwave popcorn stems from the presence of PFOA in the popcorn bag. PFOA is a harmful substance that can bring about female infertility. 
  • Non-Organic Fruits: Due to the cultivation process of non-organic fruits, they are usually carrying harmful pesticides that have adverse effects on humans. Some of these pesticides include atrazine and organophosphates.
  • Packaged Potato Chips: These potato chips are filled with fats that facilitate increase in weight 
  • Canned Tomatoes: Eating canned tomatoes can be harmful to your health. This is because acids in tomatoes react with BPA lining on the can. This reaction causes an adverse effect in people. 
  • Processed Meats: When meat is processed, it gets contaminated with dangerous compounds. Preservatives are added to processed meat for a longer shelf life. However, in this process, carcinogenic substances are added to the meat. 
  • GMOs: These foods contain external genes that dangerously jump on to bacteria DNA in the human digestive system. 
  • Hydrogenated Oils: These are dangerous because of the high amount of Omega 6 fatty acids found in them. 
  • Soda: Because of their excess sugar content and calories, these drinks are harmful. They cause people to become overweight.
