Nail art is an expression of a woman’s femininity. Painting your nails can give you a creativity boost. Every time you see your lovely nails, you get a sense of achievement. To help you in this regard here are some quick and simple nail designs for you to try out.

1. Holographic Nails

  • Start with a base coat.
  • Apply glitter nail polish. When applying the polish, make sure you dab it on instead of painting the nails. This way the holographic flex will stand out.
  • Apply strips of glue down each nail.
  • You’ll know the glue is ready for the foil when it is clear.
  • Keep in mind the colored side of the foil should face upwards.
  • Press foil onto the glue. Rip off the foil.
  • For your glitter accent, you can use more glue, or you can use a clear top coat to keep the glitter in place.
  • Brush off the excess glitter from the sides.

  • Paint your nails black.
  • Put on foil glue. You can get it on eBay.
  • Paint the glue in different shapes on the nails.
  • Always remember less is more at the end of the nail.
  • Take the rainbow foil. You can see a yellow color at the other side of the foil.
  • To remove that you should take some cotton, dip it in acetone, open the foil and wipe it.
  • Take the foil press on to the nail and take it off.
  • Again paint your nails with glue according to your creativity.
  • Take different colored glitters. Apply the glitter with a brush over the second coat of glue. After you’ve finished, scrub off the excess glitter.
  • To add more definition take black color in your liner brush and enhance the designs.
  • Take glitter polish and fill in the gaps. It gives a stained glass look to your nails.
  • Decorate with small stones of 1.5 mm.

  • Apply pink nail polish to some of your nails and white polish to the other nails.
  • With lighter pink color keep dots, followed by white color. Keep two dots of black.
  • With a liner, mix these colors as you see in the picture.
  • Pull the colors as you would do in water marbling.
  • Take all the extra polish from the sides.
  • To the white painted nails apply pink color horizontally followed by black.
  • With your liner drag and pull the colors as in water marbling.
  • Take off the excess.You can play with your creativity and form the designs.
  • Add crystals called pixie dust to your nails to look stunning. Finally, apply the top coat.

4. Gel and Acrylic Lace Nail Art

  • Acrylic powder# 22 by Ugly Duckling
  • Integrity Gel by INM.



  • Apply white color to your nails.
  • Mix the gel and the powder of any color of your choice to the consistency of toothpaste.
  • Take a little bit of the dough and add it to your nails. Thin out with your finger.
  • With a pointed nail tool, gently start making your design. Create small circles so it looks like lace.
  • Repeat the design for other fingers.

5. Chrome Mirror Two Color Fade

You need


  • Chrome Nail Powders by LIN DECORATION
  • Gelfinity UV/LED Lamp by KUPA INC.
  • Eye makeup applicators.



  • Buff the surface of your nails with a file. Apply black color to your nails. Cure your nails in LED lamp for 30 seconds.
  • Apply another black coat. Cure your nails in the LED lamp for 30 more seconds. Buff your nails again.
  • Apply ‘Akznetz Shine On by Akzentz’ top coat to your nails.
  • Cure your nails for 30 seconds in the LED lamp. With eye makeup, applicators apply the chrome nail powders of your choice onto the nails. Your nails look like a mirror. Amazing!
  • Apply the top coat and finally, cure your nails.

6. Cushioned/ Quilted Gel Nail Design

  • Apply acrylic nail extension in the shape of a ballerina’s nail. Apply gloss.
  • Take pink blush UV gel with a pointed brush and draw a diamond on your nail. Cure for 10-30 seconds in LED light.
  • Repeat the process, with spaces in-between to get cushioned effect.
  • Finally, cure your nail for about a minute. Apply mega gloss sealer gel at the points where the triangles meet.
  • Keep micro beads over the gel. Cure in LED lamp for 1 minute. Using mega gloss sealer gel, seal the beads. Put your nails in the lamp for a minute. Finish it off by applying cuticle oil.

7. 3D Acrylic Petals Nail Art

  • Apply two coats of black gel polish onto your nails.
  • Take your detailer brush and dip in Ugly Duckling Acrylic and Monomer liquid and put it in a dabbing dish. This liquid is a slow setting which is great for working petals.
  • For best results be careful with your liquid to powder ratio.
  • With the same detailer brush, dip into the white powder and put the ball on the nails. Shape the flower petal with a dry brush. You can dry the detailer brush by pressing the bristles onto a paper towel.
  • Gently shape more petals. Put a pearl at the center with the help of a tweezer. Add more mini pearls.
  • Apply silver dust to enhance the beauty of the petals.
  • You can go in for simpler designs to get a hang of it.

8. Aquarium Nails

  • Sculpt a thin acrylic nail. Shape side walls and smooth out the nail.
  • Trim a clear tip to fit on the nail leaving a small margin.
  • Add a little nail glue to hold the tip in place.
  • Seal the edges with clear acrylic.
  • Make sure your acrylic beads are not too wet.
  • Leave a small opening to fill the nail. Allow to dry fully.
  • Add a small amount of glitter. Fill with baby oil using a dropper or syringe.


  • Blot away excess oil with a tissue. Seal with a dry bead of acrylic.
  • File and buff very gently. Add some nail art and crystals. Top coat with glaze and cure your nails for two minutes.

9. Matte Black Nails with Glossy Tip

Things needed


  • Base Coat
  • Top Coat
  • Glossy black nail polish
  • Mattifying top coat
  • Regular tape
  • Any lotion to apply when done



  • Apply base coat. Apply black polish.
  • Completely dry your nails if you think it needs a 2nd coat, apply more, and let dry.
  • Apply tape to ends of nails.
  • Apply matte polish to exposed nails.
  • Let it dry completely.
  • Carefully remove the tape.
  • Apply top coat to tips only.
  • Let top coat dry completely.
  • Wash hands and apply lotion.

10. Easy Cherry Blossom Nails

  • Apply mint color on the top of your nail and clear polish at the bottom.
  • Make dark brown color by mixing brown and black in a palette.
  • With the liner brush draw branches across the nail.
  • Apply few dark leaves.

  • Marianne nails no 68 plate, stampers, and scrapper.
  • Polishes and stamping polishes
  • Gold beads, Simply Peel, scissors, dotting tool, detail brush, tweezers and blue studs.



  • Apply Madam Glam Sea Swing and Sun as the base coat.
  • Apply Simply Peel around your nails for easy clean up.
  • The stamping polish is Urban Nail Art White.
  • Apply the UNA to design in the Marianne nails no 68 plate.
  • Stamp on the middle finger. Peel off simply peel.
  • Do the same for other nails.
  • Next, use Lady Silhouette on the same plate.
  • Stamping polish is Ya Quin An Chocolate.
  • Keep stamping other images.
  • Take a few drops of nail polish on a plastic sheet.
  • Start coloring with a detail brush.

12. Rainbow Spiral Water Marble Nail Art

  • Paint your nail white. Grab a small piece of scotch tape and wrap it around the base of your nail.
  • Wrap your outer part of the nail with a scotch tape.
  • Start water marbling with orange, light green, dark green, blue, pink, dark pink, orange, yellow and blue.
  • You can do this technique with the colors of your choice.
  • Take the stick used for designing and move the water marble onto the sides.
  • Repeat the process and move from middle to sides.
  • Next, go from the outer layers to the middle. Make a swirl at the center.
  • Dip your nail in the water marble. Remove the excess polish.
  • Slowly pull out your nail from the water.
  • Apply top coat.

  • Prep your nails and apply Rose Clear Gel.
  • Cure the nails for 2 minutes.
  • Again apply Rose Clear Gel to the tip of the nail. Apply turquoise glitter to the nail edges and apply chunky glitter to the tip.
  • Gently correct the glitter.
  • Seal the glitter with Rose Clear Gel.
  • Cure the nails for 2 minutes.
  • File the nails into shape.
  • Apply primer around the cuticle area before the top coat.

  • Nded 1-Phase clear gel
  • Nded Makeup Gel – Antique Rose skin
  • Nded French white gel
  • Nded Ultra bond Primer
  • Nded Hygiene Spray Sanitizer
  • Nded 1-Phase Rose gel
  • Nded Quick Finish top Gel



  • Prep and Prime your nails.
  • Apply base layer. You can use 1-Phase clear gel.
  • Cure for 2 minutes.
  • Use French white gel to paint the tip.
  • Blend and fade. Try to fade out the smile line.
  • Cure for 2 minutes.
  • Apply a second coat to make the white color more intense.
  • Cure for 2 minutes.
  • Cover pink. You can use Antique Rose Pink.
  • Try to blend with white color.
  • Cure for 2 minutes.
  • Seal everything with 1-phase rose gel.
  • Cure for 2 minutes.
  • Apply the gel one more time. Again cure for 2 minutes.
  • File and buff.

  • To make your polish last longer apply white vinegar to your nails before you apply the nail polish.
  • Use eyeshadow applicators to apply sparkles.
  • Buy Mason jars from the dollar store, roll up some sponge and put it in the jar, soak your sponge in nail polish remover liquid. You have your very own DIY polish remover.
  • To make mermaid nails, cut some plastic loofah and sponge on some mermaid colors.
  • Clean your messy cuticles with an eyeliner brush dipped in remover.
